Installing Okta FastPass for macOS

Okta Verify is set to auto-install on all university-sponsored Mac laptops for faculty and staff. Please proceed to step 3 if you fall into this category.

1. Non-employee St. Edward's Mac users can find the Okta Verify app on the Apple App Store.

2. After installation, the Okta Verify application will appear in your system’s application listing and toolbar.

3. Search for Okta Verify and open the application. You can search using Launchpad or Spotlight (f4 keyboard key). See screenshots below.

4. Click Get started. Proceed until you arrive at the "New Account" page.

5. Enter “identity.stedwards.edu” for the Sign-In URL in the “New Account” field.

6. Proceed through the St. Edward's University SSO path to confirm the new Okta Verify request. Use any factor you're enrolled in to complete the request.

7. For FastPass, all Mac OS devices will have to enable “Touch ID.” Touch ID will serve as an additional MFA prompt for FastPass. Touch ID is a Mac OS system tool and is not directly affiliated with Okta or a user’s Okta account.

8. A message confirms that your account was added successfully. When you access apps protected by Okta, you can now authenticate with Okta FastPass on your computer.
