Installing Okta FastPass for macOS (Students and Adjunct Faculty)

 

1. You can install the Okta Verify app from the Apple App Store here for your personal device.

2. After installation, search for Okta Verify and open the application.

3. You can search using Launchpad or Spotlight (f4 keyboard key). See screenshots below.

4. Once Okta Verify opens, click "Get started". Proceed until you arrive at the "New Account" page.

5. On the "New Account" page, enter “identity.stedwards.edu” in the field, then click "Next".

6. Next, you should be prompted to log into the SEU Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) with your username/email, password, and a multi-factor authenticator (MFA). If you do not have an MFA to log in with, you will need to submit an MFA Reset Request here.

7. To use FastPass, you will need to setup Touch ID on your Mac. Touch ID is a MacOS system tool and is not directly affiliated with Okta. Here is Apple's article on setting up Touch ID.

Once you have Touch ID setup on your Mac, click "Enable" in the Okta Verify app.

8. A message confirms that your account was added successfully. When you access apps protected by Okta, you can now authenticate with Okta FastPass on your computer.
