Being successful at St. Edward's requires equipping yourself with the necessary tools.
Student Essentials
- Minimum Technology Requirements: To ensure quality and consistent technology-enabled instruction, students and faculty should have the proper equipment. Check that your computer, webcam, microphone, and Internet access meet these standards. If not, consult with your department and OIT for solutions.
- myHilltop: Your all-in-one destination. Whether you're registering for classes or paying your bill, everything you need is in myHilltop. Use the search bar to locate what you need and favorite your most-used tasks for quick access. For on-the-go convenience, download the myHilltop mobile app for iOS or Android.
- On-Campus Computer Labs: Find computer labs in Johnson Hall, the Munday Library, and Trustee Hall.
- Printing: Print from anywhere using nearly any device.
- Student Discounts: Enjoy exclusive discounts on software and hardware, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, and access free Microsoft Office 365 as a St. Edward's student.
- Store your files on the cloud: Avoid storing assignments on lab computers, as they wipe all saved data upon restart. Instead, store them in Google Drive using your St. Edward's account.
- Beware of suspicious emails. St. Edward's will never ask you for your password. If you receive a message asking for it, it's a phishing attack.
- Wi-Fi: On campus, there are three wireless networks. Each serves a different purpose.
- SEU (secured): Students should use the SEU network as their default. Log in with your St. Edward's username and password to access it.
- SEU-Guest (unsecured): We recommend that campus visitors use this network.
- Eduroam (secured): St. Edward's uses Eduroam, connecting universities and academic institutions globally. Whether you're visiting St. Edward's or another Eduroam participating university, access secure and reliable internet by logging in to the Eduroam network using your home university credentials.
