Enabling and Building New Quizzes in Canvas

Body

New Quizzes is a new quizzing tool in Canvas that faculty may enable and use in their courses. Check out the Introduction to New Quizzes in Canvas to learn about the differences between Classic and New Quizzes.

This article covers the following topics:

Enabling New Quizzes in your class

Before you can start using New Quizzes, you must enable it in your class. Since this feature is still optional, we have not enabled it for every Canvas course; instead, we are leaving it as a faculty choice.

  • Click Settings at the bottom of the course navigation menu.
  • Click the Feature Options tab.
     Feature Options tab
  • Next to the New Quizzes feature (1), click the State icon (a red X indicates the Disabled state), then select Enabled (2). The State icon will change to a green check.
