Setting Up Okta Verify on Smartphones

IET recommends Okta Verify on your smartphone as your primary MFA authenticator when logging into St. Edwards systems. Please follow the steps below to register Okta Verify for your St. Edward's account and device.

1. Install the Okta Verify app first. You can do this from whichever store your phone uses, such as the App Store on Apple iOS devices, Google Play Store on Pixels/Androids, etc.
    
2. Once you have downloaded Okta Verify to your smartphone, open the app and select the plus symbol (+) in the upper right corner to add your SEU account.
    
3. On the next page select Organization.

4.  On the Add Account from Another Device page, choose to "Skip" this step.

5. On the Do You Have Your QR Code page, select "No, Sign In Instead."
   • 
   • (OPTIONAL) You can scan a QR code if you sign in here on your computer and go to Security Methods > Okta Verify > Setup. This will generate a QR code for you.
      
6. Enter identity.stedwards.edu as the Organization's Sign-In URL.

7. Next, you need to log into your SEU account with your username, password, and another MFA method.
   • If you forgot your username (username@stedwards.edu), password, or do not have another MFA to log in with, contact SEU Tech Support for help.
   • If your default MFA method isn't working, select "Verify with something else" at the bottom of the login window to see your other available MFA methods.
      
8. Once you are finished, you should see your SEU account underneath "identity.stedwards.edu" in the Okta Verify app. This means you've set up Okta Verify correctly and can use it as an MFA method when you log in.
