What to Do When Panopto Videos Fail to Upload

Body

When Panopto videos fail to upload, Here's how to handle the situation.

If your Panopto video doesn't upload due to an interrupted Internet connection or other issues, allow some time for the upload to retry, which may take several hours. In the rare event of an upload failure to the Panopto server, the recording remains stored on the local computer. Click Manage Recordings from the main recorder window to access the list of completed uploads and incomplete recordings.

Below are instructions on manually uploading a video for PC and Mac.

On a PC

You can find a recording in the Manage Recordings section if it fails to upload. To restart the upload, click "Manage Recordings." Depending on the error, you'll see an "Upload to Server" or "Resume" button next to your recording. Select the desired folder for uploading and click "Upload" to restart or resume the process.

On a Mac

First, click "Manage Recordings" in the top right portion of the recorder window. Next, select the recording you want to upload. Once you've chosen the recording, you should see the "Choose Folder and Upload" option appear in the lower-left section of the window. From the dropdown menu, select the desired folder and click "Upload."
