The Digital Media Center (DMC) supports the creation and use of digital media in education, scholarship and creative expression. We provide a learning space for virtual consultation and online resources for digital media, including audio, video, images and interactive media.

What We Do

The DMC provides a central location on campus, through consultation and online resources, that empowers students, faculty and staff to create digital media, including audio and video production, audio and video editing, digital imaging, graphic design, and web design and development. Our staff is available for consultations on audio and video production and editing.

Services We Offer

  • Computer lab equipped with software needed to create professional, high-quality multimedia projects
  • Staff available for consultation, training and support
  • Online training is available via LinkedIn Learning (available via MyHilltop)
  • Assistance with visual presentation development and curriculum-based media projects for students
  • Video capture support, such as Panopto and Zoom
  • Event recording (video, audio or photography)

Production Rooms

Audio/Video Group Edit Room (LIBR 248) is equipped for video editing, sound design and music production.  Equipment includes a Macintosh Studio computer, audio interface, microphone and music keyboards. Software includes Adobe Premiere, Audition and Photoshop, in addition to Ableton and others.  

Podcast Studio (LIBR 250) is equipped with a Rode Podcast unit, 4 microphones and 4 sets of headphones.  Recording may use the built-in microSD card or a laptop computer can be attached to the Podcast unit via a USB cable. 

Whisper Room Audio Booth (LIBR 246C) is a soundproof room equipped with a microphone, audio interface and Macintosh computer.  Software includes Adobe Audition and Audacity. Please note this is a very small room and cannot accommodate more than two people.  

The above three rooms are available at any time the Munday Library is open and may be reserved the same as a library study room. More info 

The Video Studio can be used for video or photo shoots.  Equipment in the studio includes a camera, lighting and microphone.  Available flat backdrops are green, white, grey and black.  Available cloth backdrops are navy blue and dark grey. To request use of the studio or for more information, email support@stedwards.edu. Please note: DMC staff must be present to use the video studio.

Equipment Checkout

Equipment available for checkout will be limited to course assignments that require such equipment and/or official SEU projects. Use the online request form for all requests. Please allow 1 business day for requests to be reviewed by our staff once a submission has been made. Equipment is picked up from the lockers outside the Animation Classroom at the far end the first floor of the Munday Library. All equipment has a 3-day return policy. Any requests made during the weekend should be available for pickup the following Monday. You will receive a confirmation by email once your equipment request has been processed. Consultations and Training

Staff is available to assist your class in developing video and audio project assignments for all majors. Our staff offers project consultation, instructional materials and tutorials for digital projects. To schedule an online consultation with one of our staff, please email support@stedwards.edu.
