Syncing Gmail With Outlook

If you use Outlook to check your email, you can use it with Gmail.

Google offers a useful tool to sync your Outlook profile and all its data. Follow these steps to  set it up:

  1. Download Google Apps Sync and run the installer after it downloads.
  2. When it installs, enter your email address.
  3. You'll be asked to log in with your St. Edward's username and password, and a new window will open. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Allow."
  4. When prompted, open Outlook. Select your new Gmail profile and click "OK."
  5. Outlook will ask to make a new profile. Select "Create profile."

Important Note About the Google Connector

By default, the Google Connector syncs up to 1 GB of your mail. Follow these extra steps if you want to sync all your mail:

  1. Click your taskbar in the bottom right of your screen to view the "Google Connector" icon (i.e., the green circle). When you see it, right-click.
  2. Click "Set mailbox size limit."
