Using Google Keep and Tasks

Google Workspace has several tools that help enhance your productivity and organization. Features like Google Keep and Google Tasks are two great ways to save time and keep you organized.

Google Keep: Great for capturing ideas with your voice, adding images to notes, checking tasks off your to-do list, adding collaborators, etc.

Google Tasks: Allows you to track your daily tasks, organize multiple lists and track important deadlines all within your Gmail inbox and Google Calendar, from any device.

Accessing Google Keep

You can find Google Keep from your inbox via the grid icon in the top right corner. Scroll through the apps to find the "Keep" icon Keep icon..

Additionally, you can find Google Keep directly from your inbox. It's listed among the add-ons on the right side. Clicking the "Keep" icon here allows you to manage to-do lists from your inbox without opening a new tab or launching a new window.

Any tasks you have created will be shown on the right side of your screen when you click the "Tasks" icon. You also have the option to add an email as a task and set a due date to reply or act. Google Tasks will attach the email to the task and add it to your calendar.

Adding an Email as a Task

To add an email as a task, open an email and (from the three-dot menu) click "Add to Tasks."

From an email, the three-dot menu is exposed with Add to Tasks selected.
Once the task is created, add a due date and any additional details using the Google Tasks pane accessible from the right side of your inbox.

Viewing Tasks in Your Calendar

Any tasks with due dates will now appear in your calendar. You can remove them from your calendar by unchecking the box next to "Tasks."
Checkbox next to Tasks in Google Calendar is checked.
