Uploading a Syllabus in Canvas

The Syllabus tool is a navigation item on the default Canvas menu. Adding your syllabus to the Syllabus tool in Canvas makes it easy for students to find it in the course menu.

The Syllabus tool in Canvas consists of:

  • Syllabus description
  • Course Summary: schedule of assignments and course events
  • Link to the course calendar
  • Class grade weighting (optional)

You can link to a copy of your full syllabus (recommended) or copy and paste text from your full syllabus into the syllabus description. Additionally, you can add your office hours and contact information in the syllabus description.
