Hardware Requests

When you need to purchase hardware for faculty and staff to support their professional lives, IET is here to help. Computer hardware standardization, purchasing, and lifecycle maintenance is managed by the User Services team in IT Resources.

Before purchasing something, check the list below for our currently available models of laptop and desktop. For mobile devices (iPads) and printers, IET will work with you to select a compatible device that fits your budget and need.

Once you're ready to request a computer, fill out the purchase request form on this page. IET and the Office of Procurement will coordinate the purchasing and installation of your new device.

For software requests, please submit a case to IET support.

• Note: If you want to purchase enterprise (university-wide) software, please review the Technology Selection Policy for an overview of the process.

IET maintains minimum technology requirements to ensure our faculty, staff and students engage in work and learning experiences supported by reliable hardware. In addition to these minimum standards, we set a five-year lifespan for faculty and staff computers. This measure prevents the accumulation of outdated, slow machines with failing hardware or unsupported features.

Staff departments and academic schools can purchase accessories such as monitors, docks, cables and adapters through Amazon Business.

• Note: These orders do not have to go through IET or Procurement before being placed.
