How to Connect to SEU Printers

Before you beginplease note that you must be connected to the SEU network (not Guest Wi-Fi) and have admin rights on your computer.

 

Here's how to add printers on Windows:

  • Type \\pprint01 in the Windows Start Menu and press Enter to open the SEU Print Server.

  • Search for your printer in the top-right.
    • Printers are typically named according to department and number (ex. DEPT01).
    • Some will contain info on location and functionality (ex. Moody 309 Color Copier).

  • The server will prompt you to install the driver if you haven't already.
  • From here, you can click the Printer tab in the top-left corner to set it as your default printer, if you wish.

Here's how to add printers on Macs:

  • Click the Apple Icon in the top-left corner, open System Settings/Preferences, then scroll down to Printers & Scanners.
  • Select Add Printer (or the Plus + button on older MacOS versions).

  • Click the Globe in the top-middle, and you'll be able to add your printer via its IP address.

  • The IP Address (ex. 10.23.45.67) can be found on the printer's home screen, network settings, How to Connect report, or Configuration report.
  • The Protocol will typically be set to AirPrint. If that doesn't work...
    • Use HP JetDirect for HP Printer
    • Use Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) for everything else.
  • Name and Location are arbitrary, just make sure it's something you'll recognize.
  • The Use field is the driver assigned to this printer, and it should match the model of the printer.
