St. Edward's provides access to software to support the research process. These tools will assist you in collecting, analyzing and organizing your data. 

OIT provides support for most research software through consultation and through LinkedIn Learning and other online resources. Faculty and staff with a university-owned computer can request installation of available applications through OIT support. Some applications may require purchase by your department.

Data Analysis Software

Qualtrics Survey tool All students, faculty and staff can log in to Qualtrics with their St. Edward's credentials.
NVivo Qualitative data analysis NVivo is available on lab and classroom computers and available for install on university-owned faculty computers. A 30-day free trial is also available. 
SPSS Statistical software SPSS is installed on all lab and classroom computers and is available for all St. Edward's faculty and students. You can download the free student SPSS license.
R Statistical software R is free for download from the R Project site.
SAS Advanced statistical software Users must purchase a license for SAS.
Tableau Business Intelligence (BI) Tool for creating visually appealing reports An educational license is available for free from Tableau for instructors and students. 
Excel Basic research and analysis software for storing, organizing and manipulating data  Microsoft Office is installed on all lab and classroom computers, as well as all university-owned faculty and staff computers. Students can download a free Microsoft Office 365 license
Minitab Statistical package Minitab is available on all Windows lab and classroom computers. A free student license is also available. 
Maple Math and engineering software Maple is available on all Windows lab and classroom computers and available for installation on university-owned faculty computers. All other users must purchase a separate license.

SORIN SORIN is a research tool for searching library content, saving results into collections,  and generating citations SORIN (Search, Organize, Research, INteract), is available from the St. Edward's Library
Google Scholar Search engine for scholarly literature Google Scholar is free to the public. In order to connect full-text articles to Google Scholar, users should access it from the Library’s website.
Zotero Reference manager Zotero is free to download. 
Mendeley Reference manager Mendeley is free to download. 
EndNote Reference manager Users must purchase an EndNote license
Citation Machine Citation generator Citation Machine is free to download.   
EasyBib Citation generator
EasyBib is free for MLA only. An EasyBib Subscription is required for other styles. 
NoodleBib Citation generator with reference manager and project organization tools
NoodleBib is free for St. Edward's students, faculty and staff. The subscription is provided by the library.
