Digital production equipment (i.e. video cameras, tripods and audio recorders) is available for checkout through the front desk of the Munday Library.

Please review the list of available equipment to see what best fits your needs and make yourself familiar with the equipment loan policy. There is a 72-hour checkout policy and a St. Edward's ID is needed to checkout equipment. Hours are posted on the library website.

Equipment Loan Policy

The primary purpose of technology equipment checkout from the Munday Library is to enhance coursework, presentations and other instructional areas of the academic experience. Our goal is to have 100 percent availability and to provide users with fully functional, ready-to-use equipment.

A university ID is needed to check out equipment. Persons borrowing digital technology from the library will be charged a late fee if the equipment is not returned by the specified due date and time. After the borrowing privileges have expired, this daily late fee will be charged until the equipment is returned. Fees owed by staff members will be reported to their supervisors. Fees owed by faculty will be reported to the dean of their respective school.

Equipment Return Guidelines

There is a 72-hour checkout policy. All equipment is expected to be returned by the specified due date. Any late equipment will result in a fine under the patron's name. Equipment returned with missing parts will continue to accrue rental fees until the missing items have been returned. We do not renew equipment checkouts over the telephone.

When fees of more than $50 have accrued, a hold will be placed on the renter's library account, preventing them from checking out any library materials, and the amount will be charged to the student's account. The same fees apply when equipment is returned with missing accessories or parts. Borrowers have the responsibility of opening the cases to demonstrate that all contents are returned. Equipment checkout is a privilege that can be taken away from students, faculty or staff returning equipment more than one week late or damaged.

When Equipment Is Unavailable

During periods of extreme rain or inclement weather, there is no equipment checkout. Students cannot check out the same types of equipment over consecutive periods without the supervisor's approval. Renewals are based on availability. Additionally, there are no checkouts over holiday breaks.
