Zoom is a supported videoconferencing tool at St. Edward's that allows for web-conferencing, online meetings and group messaging.

Zoom promotes collaboration through its integrated set of feature and is reserved primarily for academic use.

Accessing Zoom

There are two kinds of accounts for Zoom: Pro and Basic.

The university has a limited number of Pro licenses; these are reserved for OIT staff and faculty teaching in the Masters of Science in Digital Marketing Analytics (MSDgMA) program. For the immediate future, additional Pro licenses will be assigned to faculty and staff on a case-by-case basis.

To request a Pro license, faculty and staff can submit a case to OIT support.

Meanwhile, all St. Edward's students, faculty and staff can log in to Zoom with their university credentials to access a Basic account. Basic accounts do have some restrictions, including a 40-minute max time for group meetings and the ability for local recordings only.
