Enabling Wi-Fi Calling on Your iPhone

  1. First, verify that you have a smart phone compatible with HD Voice and that HD Voice is enabled on your current carrier plan (HD Voice may come at an additional cost depending on your carrier).  Your device must also support Wi-Fi connectivity and be connected to a Wi-Fi network. Then follow these steps for enabling Wi-Fi calling on your iPhone:
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi Calling:
    1. Go to the Home Screen.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Phone.
    4. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
    5. Tap or slide Wi-Fi Calling On This iPhone. (slider will be green)
    6. Tap Enable
    7. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter a US address for use in the event of an emergency call (911).

Once your address is saved, the Wi-Fi Calling setting will be turned on. You are now able to take and make Wi-Fi calls on your iPhone.  Note: you must use a valid address in order to properly register in case of an emergency; some new apartment or housing developments may not be considered valid addresses since they are too new and cannot be validated by the system.
