How to Find Your Device's Serial Number/Service Tag

This article will cover:

Windows/Dell

Dell Command Update (DCU) app

Label (Laptops)

  • Most Dell laptops will have a sticker with the Service Tag labeled on the bottom of the device.
  • Some models may have a cover that needs to be lifted for you to see this.

Label (Towers)

  • Most Dell towers will have a sticker with the Service Tag labeled on the back and/or top of the device.

Label (All-In-One Desktops)

  • Most Dell AIOs will have a sticker with the Service Tag labeled on the bottom or the back of the screen.

Macs

Go to the Apple Menu > About This Mac

  • Click the Apple icon in the top left of your screen and select About This Mac to open the window that will show you your serial number.

Label (MacBooks)

  • Most MacBooks will have their serial number labeled on the bottom side of the device.

Label (iMacs)

  • Most iMacs will have their serial number labeled on the bottom side of their stand.

Label (MacPros)

  • Most MacPros will have their serial number labeled on the bottom side of the device.
