Finding the MAC Address for Your Xbox

Body

A MAC address is a unique identifier for your console on the network. We'll need that address to help you if you're having issues connecting to the internet on campus.

  • Note: You'll need to connect via an ethernet cable to a wired network jack. Your Xbox won't work on our wireless network.

Here's how to find the MAC address on your Xbox, Xbox 360 or Xbox One.

Xbox

  1. Go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard and select "Network Settings."
  2. Select "Edit Settings"
  3. Under Basic Settings, ensure the IP Settings are on Automatic.
  4. From Additional Settings, select "Advanced Settings."
  5. At the bottom of this screen, you'll see a heading called "Wired MAC Address." That's the information we'll need to assist you.

Xbox 360

  1. From the Xbox Dashboard, select "Xbox Live."
  2. From the Connect Status screen, select "Settings."
  3. The 12-digit number at the bottom-right corner of the Network Settings screens is the MAC address of your Xbox 360 console.

Xbox One

  1. Navigate to "My Games and Apps."
  2. Select "Settings."
  3. Select "Network."
  4. Select "Advanced Settings." Note your MAC address.
