Resolving Workplace Login Issues

If you're having trouble accessing Workplace to keep up with your colleagues, here's how you can get in.

Workplace connects to your St. Edward's account via Google authentication. That means logging in to your university G Suite account also logs you into Workplace. Rarely, multiple Google account sessions (like being signed into both your work and personal accounts) can result in Workplace attempting and failing to log you in, as it tries to authenticate via your personal account.

The steps to fix this depend on which device you're using.  

On a Desktop or Laptop

  1. Go to your St. Edward's Gmail inbox in a web browser.
  2. In the top right, click the square grid to access your available Google Apps.
  3. Select "Workplace by Facebook."
  4. Sign in with your St. Edward's credentials.

Note: If you're prompted to choose a Google account, use your St. Edward's email.

On Your Phone

The Workplace mobile app uses your device’s default web browser to authenticate. If that browser is already signed into your personal Google account, it may attempt to authenticate with Workplace, leading to an error.

  1. In your default browser app, navigate to your Google Account page.
  2. In the top right, tap the button with your profile picture or first initial.
  3. A dropdown menu will open. Sign out of your account.
  4. Repeat this process until you are signed out of all Google accounts on your phone browser.
  5. Open Workplace and sign in with your St. Edward's credentials.
