The Canvas course homepage is the first page students see when they click on the course from the Canvas Dashboard or click the Home link within the course menu. Faculty can customize this page.

Currently, the default course homepage is Modules. Instructors can choose the Syllabus or Assignments pages, or create a custom page to serve as the homepage. More information on the options is available in the Canvas Guide to Homepage Layouts.
Modules are the preferred layout because they make it easy for instructors to add content and for students to navigate. Modules help organize course content by weeks, units, or a different organizational structure. Modules essentially create a clear path for students to follow. An instructor can change the homepage by accessing the current home page and selecting "Choose Homepage" from the right menu. Complete instructions may be found in the Canvas Community article on Changing the Course Homepage.
