Hypothesis is easy to use, but you will need guidance the first time you use it. Here are some resources:

Key Things to Remember about Hypothesis

  • It will automatically save your progress as you use Hypothesis to annotate, highlight and tag. There is no need to press any additional buttons.
  • Annotate/highlight as little text as possible. Focus on the specific word or phrase you want to define or explain.
    • Note: You can annotate a word or phrase within someone else's highlighted area.
  • Be sure to give it a moment to save before you leave the assignment page.
  • There is no submit button for the assignment. Whatever notes/comments are saved to the annotation will be graded after the due date.
