The Panopto Capture feature allows you to record video without downloading and installing the Panopto App. This feature means you can use Panopto on a Chromebook, Windows and Mac OS.
There are now two ways to record video in Panopto. When you click Create in Panopto, you'll notice an option called Panopto Capture alongside Record a new session. Panopto Capture records in the web browser and does not require installing additional software.
Panopto Capture will work with the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Edge (Chromium-based) browsers on Windows 10, macOS 10.15 or higher or the latest ChromeOS. While it works in Safari 15 or higher, refer to the instructions below.
- Note: Ensure anti-virus exceptions are made for screen, audio (microphone) and video (web camera) in your preferred browser.
When recording with Panopto Capture, PowerPoint slides are captured as a video stream. When recording with the Panopto app, PowerPoint slides are captured individually and more easily modified post-recording.
