How to Find your Computer Name

Windows

Type "Computername" in the Search box (next to start button), click on the “Open” command option, and it should pop up the Settings | System | About window/panel that shows the computer's name in the top center of the window.

 

Or just go to Windows (Icon)| Settings | System | About.

 

You could also right-click on the “Computer (aka “My Computer”, aka “This PC”) icon that sometimes shows on the desktop, and choose “Properties”, which will bring up the same Settings window as above.

 

Mac

Go to the Apple Menu | System Settings | General | Sharing and it will show the LocalHostName near the bottom.
