This page describes the user login experience starting November 24th, 2025. Okta Verify is now required as an authenticator for limited populations.
Users who do not have stronger authenticators enrolled on their account will see changes to their login experience.
Stronger Authenticators
- Okta Verify (Push or Code)
- Okta FastPass
- Google Authenticator
- FIDO Keys (like Yubikey)

Normal Authentication
On November 24th, 2025, anyone not using a strong authenticator will see this on login:
- User enters their username.
- User enters their password.
- User authenticates with MFA.

Okta Verify Required Screen
If you log in using a weaker authenticator, you'll see a new Okta Verify Required alert. This will list how many days you have to enroll in Okta Verify & include a setup button.
- Select “Set up” under the Okta Verify Required date.
- Download and install the Okta Verify app on your device.
- (Optional) If you can’t scan, select the “Can’t scan” button, which provides text and email delivery options for the Okta Verify installer. Please use the phone number and email affiliated with your St. Edward's account.

Remind Me Later
If you select "Remind me later",

User selects “Remind me later”.

The next page will display the optional authenticators available for enrollment.
