Using Google Calendar

At St. Edward's, our primary calendar tool is Google Calendar, which works with Gmail, the university's email.

Google Calendar provides access to your important meetings and events, syncing seamlessly across all your devices. Easily createshare and edit invites and events at your convenience.

About Your Calendar

You can access your personal calendar directly at calendar.stedwards.edu, or you can find it in your inbox via the grid icon in the top right corner.

Open grid menu in a Gmail inbox, displaying available G Suite apps.

Using Google Calendar on Your Phone

To access your calendar on your mobile device, download the Google Calendar app from the iOS App Store or the  Google Play Store. OIT supports the Google Calendar app on iOS and Android, and provides web access for Windows and macOS computers.

  • Note: The Google Calendar and Gmail apps are separate and distinct.

Sharing Calendars

As part of the St. Edward's community, you can see when your colleagues are free or busy by default. To see more details, they'll need to share their calendar with you. Additionally, if you want people outside the university to see when you’re available, you'll need to share your calendar with them. You have full control over who can see your shared calendar, and you can adjust permission settings as needed.

Creating New Calendars

Besides your personal calendar, you can create additional calendars for specific purposes, like tracking staff vacation schedules or important events. You can select which calendars you want to see by selecting them in the “My Calendars” pane on the left side of your Calendar view.

Google Calendar also allows you to set up appointment slots for things like advising appointments or office hours.
