Setting Up a Blog or Website

St. Edward’s University offers several platforms for creating a web presence.

Interested in publishing a website or blog for your class? Options include opportunities for your students to journal, blog or create online content:

  • Google Sites: A website-building platform available through Google Workspace that allows you to create websites or wikis quickly using Google Workplace tools.
  • Canvas: Primarily for academic courses, but can be used for committees, groups or other special purposes.
  • Faculty profiles on the main St. Edward's website offer space for faculty members to showcase their professional and academic careers and highlight unique achievements.
  • SEU Sites, a WordPress website platform, is being retired in May 2026.  New sites should be built with Google Sites.

We've provided a chart outlining general uses and which tools we recommend for each in the chart below. If you have questions or ideas, feel free to contact us using the form on this page.
