Backing Up Bookmarks

To ensure your bookmarks are safe, you can back them up in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer. Here's how:

Google Chrome

  1. To back up bookmarks on Chrome, click the menu button.
  2. Go down to "Bookmarks," and click "Bookmark Manager."
  3. Click "Organize" at the top of the screen and click "Export Bookmarks to HTML File."
  4. Click "Save."

Firefox

  1. Click the "Bookmarks" menu and click "Show All Bookmarks."
  2. Click the "star" menu, then click "Backup" or click "Export to HTML."
  3. Click "Save."

Safari

  1. With Safari open, go to "File," then "Export Bookmarks."
  2. Click "Save."

Internet Explorer

  1. Click the "Favorites" menu and click the dropdown menu next to "Add to favorites."
  2. Click "Import and export" and then click "Next."
  3. Select "Export to a file" and then click "Next."
  4. Click "Favorites."
  5. Select your "Favorites" folder and click "Export."
