  • To connect from your laptop:
    • Ensure the software is installed - download and install the Solstice wireless projection software.
      • Note: Don't connect the Mic and the Camera unless you will be using it for Videoconferencing.
    • Ensure you connect your laptop to the SEU (Wi-Fi) Wireless(not Guest), and use your St. Edwards credentials to connect.
  • Open the Mersive Solstice app.
  • Click on(1) Settings in the lower left corner,(2) click on the General taband (3) enter the Solstice Discovery Service Address: psolstice01.seu.stedwards.edu (Note: This address will only work in the Mersive Solstice app. You will only need to enter this address the first time you connect.)

  • Then click on the back button and you will see a list of all the rooms. Next, select the room you are located in and a new session will begin. Next, type in the four-digit key shown on the room display.Note:These 4 numbers will be given by the instructor in the classroom or will be displayed on the screen.

  • You should then be able to share content from your computer. Select (Desktop, App Window, and Media File).

  • Important:In the classroom, ensure you log into the SEU wireless network using your St. Edwards credentials (Do not use the other network names, such as SEU guest, etc. ) You need your SEU password.
  • Go to Settings and under General:

  • Type in your official name on the roster in "Enter your name to get started" and click "Continue"

  • Enter the Solstice Discovery Service Address.Go to Settings and under the General settings you will see Solstice Discovery Service Address. Type inpsolstice01.seu.stedwards.edu.

  • Click on the back button and you will see a list of all the rooms. Next, select the room you are located in and a new session will begin.
  • Next, enter the screen key (####) to connect to the classroom network.
    • Note:These 4 numbers will be given by the instructor in the classroom.
  • In order to share your screen, use AirPlay for iOSand Miracast for Android.

How to Mirror Your iOS Device Screen Using AirPlay

Solstice supports full mirroring of iOS 7+ devices (Apple iPhones and iPads) that feature Apples AirPlay functionality. AirPlay mirroring is accomplished through the devices native AirPlay feature, using a similar process as connecting to an Apple TV.
  • Ensure the iOS device is connected to the WiFi network used to connect to the Solstice display.
  • Open the iOS Control Center
    • On an iPhone X or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 13 or later, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
    • On an iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap the Screen Mirroring icon and select the Solstice display from the list that appears. If the desired Solstice display does not appear in the AirPlay menu of your device, open the Mersive Solstice app and connect to the desired display, then repeat steps 2 and 3.
  • If prompted for an AirPlay code, enter the 4-digit screen key visible on the Solstice display. Your device will connect wirelessly to the display and your screen will be streamed in real-time.
  • To stop mirroring your screen to the display:
    • Open the iOS Control Center again.
    • Tap the Screen Mirroring icon for the connected Pod.
    • Tap Stop Mirroring.
  • Note:An AirPlay option may also appear when viewing photos or videos in iOS. Photos and videos shared via AirPlay generally appear full screen on the Solstice display.

How to Mirror Your Android Device Screen Using Miracast

Users with a Miracast app on their Android mobile device can connect and share their screen without the Mersive Solstice app. If the Solstice display does not appear as an option to Miracast to, contact your IT administrator to make sure Miracast is enabled for that display.
  • Connect the Android device to the WiFi network shown on the Solstice display.
  • Swipe down twice from the top of the Android screen to open the Quick Settings menu.
  • Select your Miracast screen casting or mirroring option.
  • Different device manufacturers have developed different Miracast options. Some possibilities are SmartView (Samsung) or Wireless Projection (Huawei).
  • From the list of Miracast devices available, select the name of the Solstice display.
  • If prompted for a PIN or password, enter the screen key shown on the display. Your device will connect wirelessly to the display and your screen will be mirrored in real-time.
