If you've already added the printer, and it's still not working, make sure you're on SEU WiFi not Guest.
- If the printer's been moved, you'll likely need to re-install it using the instructions below.
Here's how to add printers on Windows via the print server:
- Make sure you're connected to SEU WiFi (not Guest) or Ethernet.
- Type "\\pprint01" (without the quotes) in the "Start Menu" and click "Enter" to open the SEU Print Server.
- Search for your printer in the top-right and double-click it to install.
- The server will prompt you to install the driver if you haven't already.
Here's how you add a printer via IP on Windows:
- Make sure you're connected to SEU WiFi (not Guest) or Ethernet.
- Open the Control Panel app
- Go to "View Devices and Printers"
- Click "Add Printer" at the top
- Click "The device I want isn't listed" at the bottom
- Select "Add printer via TCP/IP address or hostname" then click "Next"
- Enter the IP Address (example:10.23.4.567) and click "Next" through the end.
- The IPcan be found on the printer's home screen, network settings, How to Connect report, or Configuration report.
- Your computer may ask you to select the make and model of the printer (aka the driver).
- If it's not listed, use a generic/universal HP or Microsoft driver.
Here's how you can add a printer on Macs via HP Easy Start (HP Printers Only):
- Make sure you're connected to SEU WiFi (not Guest) or Ethernet.
- Download the app if you don't have it installed [LINK].
- Open the app and continue normally until you get a search bar.
- Type in the IP Address of the printer(example:10.23.4.567)
- The IPcan be found on the printer's home screen, network settings, How to Connect report, or Configuration report.
- Select "Search for devices matching IP Address."
- You should see your printer appear below. Select it and let the app install the software.
- To change the name, ctrl-click (or right-click) your printer in "System Preferences."
Here's how you can add printers on Macs via System Preferences:
- Make sure you're connected to SEU WiFi (not Guest) or Ethernet.
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the Plus "+" button on the bottom-left to add a new printer.
- Click the Globe in the top-middle to add via IP Address.
- IP Address = (example:10.23.4.567)
- The IPcan be found on the printer's home screen, network settings, How to Connect report, or Configuration report.
- Protocol = HP JetDirect for HP Printers
- IPP - Internet Printing Protocol for everything else.
- Name and Location are arbitrary, just make sure it's something you'll recognize.
- It will try to automatically "Use" the best driver available.
- You can manually change this if you know you have a better one.
